“Worked on a car years ago changing brakes hit it nail came off, then was filled with yellow color after a while it turn dry and wouldn’t grow any more not too sure how bad it is and if it is worth laser treatment?”
Fungus on one finger.
Single index finger on right hand with fungus.
Single finger fungus.
Has anyone done laser treatment, and what were your results? People want to know! Us too!
My name is Barbara and I have been suffering with toe nail fungus on my left great toe off/on for years.
A year ago someone recommended I try Vics Vapo Rub. It did not help and seemed to make my cuticle area worse.
I saw a Dermatologist and she put me on a new topical medication, Jublia. I used it for a year but it did not help. My nail fell off twice during that treatment year. It was gross with a foul odor coming from my yellow, ridged nail bed and from the nail that literally peeled off the nail bed. It was soft almost mushy with a foul odor, too. It gree back yellow each time.
My new PCP prescribed Lamisil and after initial liver tests showed it was healthy I began the medication.
I took this photo today after my nail fell off 3 weeks into starting my Lamisil treatment. Like the last 3 times it was thick, yellow slightly mushy with a foul odor. My nail bed is exposed now and it smells, too, is yellowish brown with lots of ridges.
Kind of scary actually because it kind of smells neurotic aka like dead tissue smells. My cuticle is bright red my toe is swollen and red as well. If this is all part of the fungal infection it’s the worse one I’ve ever had.
After 3 weeks of Lamisil
Lamisil worked for me once before years ago so I hope it will again. Since my nail bed is exposed I wonder if I can try Vinegar or bleach on it while continuing the Lamisil? Thoughts?
This photo sent in recently, asking “Is there a cure?”
Is there a cure for nail fungus?
The only way to be sure that what you have IS toenail fungus or fingernail fungus is to see your doctor and send a sample in to a laboratory. Otherwise, comparing photos to what you have can be confusing. Are the photos showing the real thing? It would be nice to have a cure. Maybe some new medication or solution will come along in the near future…
What do you think? Have you found any product or method that can help cure this disease?
A reader recently sent in some photos of his toenail fungus, claiming that it has spread from on foot to the other. the fungus has been with him “for years”. These photos show both the right and left feet.
If you have some photos to share, please send them along. Others will appreciate comparing one photo to another. And if you have tried some cures, send in your conclusions, thanks.
